I understand that several people are unable to view the full images on PB's website, only seeing thumbnails and not being able to enlarge them. I'm at a loss, because it works for me (even if I'm not logged in and on different browsers). At the very least, I get to the embedded page, where you can click on the image and get the full sized, or right click (in the lower half of the image) and download/save the full sized image. That shouldn't even be happening, as I remove the segment of code in the image link that directs to the embedded page, allowing one click access to the full sized image. I've done that for a very long time, but now its redirecting anyway... if you're lucky! :/

I'm sorry, but I'm really sort of helpless here in fixing any of these issues. Clearly this is something on PB's side, probably related to their migration to the new site/server on March 18. At that point, I will evaluate my accounts to make sure I can still share pictures in full resolution. I'm assuming yes, but no idea right now. :(

If I have to change to another image host site (no clue who at this point) besides being a massive project on my side, all the images I've posted in the last 2 years will most likely disappear, with all the links broken as I'll be closing those accounts. So short of going back and editing the code on every single image in every single post, I'm not sure how to avoid that.

Hopefully it won't come to that.

I've stuck with PB this long because it has always had good tools for managing a LOT of images and with capping and art, I have thousands online. Bulk uploading, generating image code and just bulk image management in general are a necessity. Not many sites offer that, at least not free.

In the meantime, I have to stick with PB for now, as I don't really have the time to look for a new site *right now*.

An alternative I've considered is uploading a zip file of all the images in a post and linking it. Of course, that link would be temporary. I don't pay for permanent file hosting, only free sites. Its not a perfect solution, but is one.

It also appears that this is affecting all of my posts, not just recent ones, and not just ones from one particular PB account.

I'm sorry. I'm extremely irritated with PB right now. I cannot find any way to contact them or report the issue, as all the "forum topics" I can find on the site, are closed to comments. :/ Nice. Great job, guys. No way to comment or report issues, even for a *paid* account. >:(

Anyway, my apologies for the problems (and this ramble). Wish I could make it right somehow.

Okay, I'm tech-impaired, so I only understand about half of what you were saying there, but I appreciate the amount of effort you're putting into all this for our benefit.

And yes, it would be tragic if all your images from the last two years went poof! Some days I think the ability to scan back through a favorite previous post is what keeps me from needing pills.

Also, I just have to say how fantastically awesome and perfect and appropriate and HOT your icon is.

ha! I really like that icon. I haven't used it much, but it seemed fitting! ;) I made a whole bunch a few years back for different moods, and yes... I was/am ANNOYED at PB.

Though it seems somehow its magically fixing itself.

I don't like magic fixes. Being in IT I see them happen too often, and I still don't like them. LOL I want a rational explanation! ;)

But because I'm in IT, when I get my teeth into an IT problem like this, I'm loathe to let it go. I was compelled to keep digging to try to find the problem and the solution. Its in my nature. *shrug*

Glad you peruse! Another reason I used/use PB. I wanted long term/permanent hosting online. (and I still didn't want to pay for it. Heh) though I do have one paid account. ;)

anyway *stops rambling* I'll post as long as people are interested in the pictures. :)

Ah, chuckle!

I agree - unexplained magic fixes (in life, not just in IT) are disconcerting, if only because they all too often tend to be fleeting and/or intermittent. The husband is an IT/web guru, and while I don't speak the language at all, I understand the frustration of not knowing the whys behind a situation.

Ever grateful for the lovely, blood-pressure-moderating flow of pictures. This comm is better than coffee AND chocolate.

For people who see the smaller image with no apparent way to enlarge it, there IS A WAY! I just found two ways.

On the right side of the window, there is a box called "Image Links" - email, IM, direct link, html code, img code, etc. If you click on "direct link" it copies that link for you. You can paste it into your url box, hit enter, and it will load the giant image for you to view.

You can also use the "Options" dropdown above the image to download it, and it will download the big version. It does not download the smaller image that you may see in your window.

The one of Shep with Halling comes to 1072x715 pixels. If that's the size that you uploaded, then it's working correctly. http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/SGAFan/media/DailyFlan2/SheppardOthers44.jpg.html

I'm always happy to help. I just happen to be one of those people who clicks on EVERYTHING to see what it does.

You will probably have to save a little text file of instructions (your words or mine - doesn't matter to me) to paste into all your posts for a while, until people get used to it.

Actually, I'll probably just link back to this post and the other one with comments and suggestions for work arounds to this issue, in upcoming post. That way people can read the options and figure out what works for them. hopefully everyone can find a solution and PB gets their sh** together! *eyeroll*

*sigh* yeah, that's the issue that I can't resolve. You shouldn't have to sign in at all. Are you viewing them on the new website or old? Is there an "options" button above the picture preview? If so, there is a download there, and that will give you the original image, full sized, downloaded. :/

Old site, should be able to right click and save. Also on the new site, in the lower part of the preview image, there *should* be a right click save option too.

It seemed until last week I was going to the old web site, now I seem to be directed to the new. If you click on the pic it doesn't get bigger and when you right click I'm not given any option to save the picture only copy the link location. No links for me to download just to sign in?

did you right click in the lower half of the preview image? Yeah, its nuts but there's actually a support document by PB that I found, stating that you had to right click in the lower half of teh preview image.

and, if you're landing on a page in the new site, then there should be an "Options" button above the preview that gives a download option. That will download the full sized image.

This crap by PB is really a PITA. Hopefully they get their sh** together soon!

I finally got them all downloaded but I have to keep clicking (all around the right bottom of the box) until it decides to give me the bigger picture then I can save it. Otherwise it keeps taking me to PB.
